§1 Dragonkind Retry Timer
Dragonkind Retry Timer · 4-hour cooldown
4:00:00
You can brave Threshing again at
Ready
Your cooldown is over. Open dragonkind.com and check the Threshing answers before you go in.
Runs in your browser only. Nothing is sent to dragonkind.com or to us.
§2 How the Dragonkind Cooldown Works
When a dragon burns you, another cadet stabs you or you fall in combat, the run ends and you land back in the Rotunda. The Threshing door is then locked for 4 hours. The Rotunda shows the time left in a line such as "You can brave Threshing again in 3:58".
The wait applies to every death, not only the first one. Rebecca Yarros reportedly almost made it 24 hours, so four is the generous version. There is no known way to skip it: players report the site has blocked the "+alias" email trick for making extra accounts.
§3 How to Use This Timer
- I just died: starts a full 4-hour countdown from now.
- Rotunda shows time left: type the countdown from the Rotunda, for example 3:58. This is the most accurate option if you come back a few minutes later.
- I died at…: pick the clock time of your death. If that time is later than now, the timer assumes you mean yesterday.
The timer saves its end time on your device, so you can close the page and come back; the countdown picks up where it left off. While it runs, the browser tab title shows the time left. Alert me in this tab sends a browser notification when the time is up, but only while the tab stays open. Add to calendar downloads a small .ics file that works in Google Calendar, Apple Calendar and Outlook.
§4 What to Do While You Wait
Four hours is long enough to plan the next run properly instead of guessing again.
- Find where you died. The Threshing answers and route map lists every scene, the choices and the known deaths.
- Chasing a rare color? Read how to get a Black dragon and how to get a Blue dragon. Both depend on a random shadow option, so plan to scout for it.
- Write down your choices. Outcomes mix your picks with luck. A log makes it easier to repeat a run that almost worked.
- Check the community. The r/fourthwing bonding megathread collects fresh player routes every day.

How long is the Dragonkind cooldown?
Four hours. After every death in the Threshing, the Rotunda locks the Threshing and shows a countdown such as "You can brave Threshing again in 3:58".
Can I skip the Dragonkind wait timer?
No. There is no known way to skip the 4-hour cooldown, and players report that the "+alias" email trick for extra accounts has been blocked.
Does this timer connect to my Dragonkind account?
No. It runs only in your browser and never touches dragonkind.com. It saves your end time on your device so the countdown survives a page reload.
